Dining on the Ledge

A new program of the LNRP and NERN called “Dining on the Ledge” was initiated in 2011. Dining on the Ledge offers participants the experience trying local foods and wines in unique settings throughout the Niagara Escarpment. These casual, yet sophisticated events make for a great way to celebrate in a relaxed social setting with friends and colleagues.

Working with local wineries, chefs, and others, NERN and the LNRP embrace many of the principles which apply to the sustainability of our precious resources by implementing wise land use practices and sustainable farming methods that further enhance the agri-tourism and geo-tourism aspects of the Niagara Escarpment and Northeast Wisconsin.

These will incorporate other fun activities such as artist showings and silent auctions by the Water’s Edge Artists group, or perhaps live music. Typically, a portion of the proceeds from sales at these events are contributed toward the LNPR/NERN’s ongoing efforts.

In July 2011, our first “Dining on the Ledge” event was held at Trout Springs Winery in southern Brown County. Over 35 people registered for the event and they all went home very, very pleased with the meal, the wine, the art and the atmosphere.
